As the first light of day breaks over the red dirt of the Pilbara, a cool breeze rolls in, bringing with it an extra burst of motivation. Here at Yarrie Station, we’re busy preparing for the muster season ahead– a crucial part of producing Australian natural beef.
LIFE ON THE STATION
Many days are spent on the fence line, straining barbed wire over riverbeds to secure boundaries. In the evenings, we make camp by closest bore, cooking steaks over the campfire by moonlight.
Muster preparations fill the rest of the days, as we whipper snipper around camps and clean up the yards. The workshop is a hive of activity, servicing all the vehicles before we start.
HONING HORSEMANSHIP SKILLS
A recent highlight for our team was Steve Burke’s horsemanship school. His incredible skills and positive energy inspired us all. Over three days, the team strengthened connections with each other and with our horses, which will be invaluable as we head into muster.
